One reason I will remain a thinker and not a true activist: I don't like fundraisers.
An ordinary weekday Madrid evening People are just hanging out. Stores are open. Cafes everywhere.
Most Americans don't live normal lives. Children don't walk to schools, buy groceries. Nightlife means bars, not real streetlife
You know what? I'll just fly overseas for operations if something does happen to me. Make a vacation out of it. There.
A minor rant having to shop for a costly medical insurance- I have no reason to see a doctor other than regular checkups. Picture of health.
I apologize to people who have made a profession out of insurance... but the very fact that it *IS* a money-making profession bothers me.
Recovery may just be as simple as doing away with all sorts of costly insurance. Face it, that's what's bogging everything down. You fear.
Sadly Sam Wo is now closed but it was such a delight to find buildings like these preserved in SF, rare in booming Asia
Sharon building on New Montgomery
My illustrious book club asks me to be book review chair. Do I have time for that?
...but of course if I choose to live in France I can easily visit places like Lisbon without having to fly 6000 miles..
(Aix).. not as alluring as Lisbon. Love at first sight Plus: So much beauty, history. Modern yet cheap. Minus: Language
If I ever move to Europe Aix is near the top of my list of places I could love Plus: language Minus: Not as mysterious
California paradise: The Golden Gate Bridge opening celebration began on May 27, 1937.
I keep forgetting is nothing like Turkish delight, surely - much closer to
cravings: sweet tyranny of Tortas de Azeitão lovely texture almost reminds you of Turkish delights
My next city will most likely be Kiev, however. SUCH a beautiful city...
Flower train I'm so used to holding my iPhone upright... landscape rather than portrait view next time - sorry :)
My policy is not to gloat but I say with authority Slate is way off Travel like a king for pennies
I believe in downtown living. America's survival depends on it. Have you seen your city's transformation lately? Mine:
